Rose Hips - Rosa canina L.

Of European origin and naturalized in Chile since ancient times, this species finds its natural habitat in the central valley region.

In his "Critical Studies on Chilean Flora", edited by the University of Chile in 1897, Reiche C. makes reference to this species that grows wild as Rosa Canina L.

The fruit’s exceptional properties and high Vitamin C content make this fruit a major basis for infusions, soups and marmalades, while providing significant labor opportunities in harvesting, processing and exporting activities.

Properties: Mild laxative, diuretic, antioxidant (thanks to its vitamin C content).
