Matico - Buddleja globosa H.

A Chilean native shrub growing in the Central Zone, most frequently to the south of the country. It is grown for medicinal and ornamental purposes.

Its leaves have traditionally been used in popular medicine. It was first referred to in 1674, quoted by Don Diego de Rosales in his "General History of the Kingdom of Chile".

Properties: Healing of ulcers and wounds in general, alleviates digestive disorders. Used in the pharmaceutical industry and as an herbal tea.
